Jan Parker, BC-HIS & Regulated Member of the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta, joined Living Sounds Hearing Centre in June 2010 bringing more than 20 years experience as a Hearing Practitioner with various clinics in Edmonton, Calgary and rural Alberta. Her previous professional experience also includes a position as an Account Manager in Western Canada for a Hearing Instrument Manufacturer.
Jan has held an Instructor position for Hearing Practitioners at Grant MacEwan University and acted as the Content Specialist for the Continuing Competency Document, which has been implemented provincially and ensures continuous learning for all regulated Hearing Practitioners. In addition Jan has been Chair of the Examination Committee for the College of Hearing Aid Practitioners of Alberta and was instrumental in developing the theory and practical examinations that are a pre-requirement for Regulated status.
Jan also holds the distinction of being the recipient of the Elaine Kramer Education award, which was presented to her by peer members of the College. Her most recent accomplishments include a Certificate for Industrial Auditory Testing, training on Candidacy and Criteria for Cochlear Implantation in Adults, and on interventions for Tinnitus.
